A proposed bill in Arizona would allow local police to act as ICE agents

The Arizona ICE Act was introduced by Republicans in the GOP-led Arizona Senate, and instructs local police to “support the enforcement of federal immigration laws.” Democrats in Arizona are countering with their own legislation to protect undocumented residents from status checks.
