Gen Z soldiers complain about army on TikTok
Soldiers are venting about the struggles of Army life on TikTok, spilling the tea about low pay, bad food, and more. Do you think they have a right to complain publicly?
The U.S. army is facing a big problem right now. I’m not talking about Iran, China or Russia…. It’s their own soldiers complaining on TikTok.
Recruits are making videos griping about low pay, bad food, and even fitness tests.
Military Influencer Anthony Laster has over a million TIkTok followers. He went all out, dissing Army life for "no privacy," “bad food," and "no sleep!" He even jokingly posted about watching TikToks while fighting the Taliban!
Itzel Hernandez complained about trading a "boujee life" for outdoor bathroom breaks
Others are making videos on why not to join the army, mentioning reasons like rigorous physical expectations and poor pay.
According to federal data, more than 20,000 troops are on food stamps.
The Army has already been struggling with recruiting - falling short of its goals last year by 25%.
And 77 percent of Gen Z is considered ineligible for service due to issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, mental health and other medical, and physical issues like obesity
And according to Itzel, she’s only a few pounds away from what the army considers overweight
Is Gen Z just too soft for the Army or should these issues be addressed?
And is it appropriate for our armed forces to be airing their grievances on social media?
