Is AI a threat or advantage in the workplace
More than half of Gen Z worries AI could threaten their job prospects, but Gen Z may also have the advantage when it comes to shaping the future of AI in the workplace.
Ever wonder if robots are eyeing your dream job?
You’re not alone - a new study says that more than half of Gen Z’ers are worried that AI technology could threaten their job prospects.
WithChatGPT and other similar AI programs, Business Insider made a list of jobs that could be impacted - or replaced completely.
Jobs like Data Analysts, Graphic Designers, Traders, Accountants all made the list - as did Content Creators.
But all hope is not lost!
Experts say we need to look at AI as a tool to enhance our productivity - not a technology that will replace us.
According to a new study from Harvard Business School, Employees who used ChatGPT to complete 18 different work tasks performed significantly better than their peers who didn’t. The numbers don’t lie. They completed 12% more tasks, 25% faster and with 40% better quality. Hard to argue with that.
But AI isn’t perfect - multiple companies have reported issues with ChatGPT getting basic facts wrong proving that there’s no replacement for real live people.
But as members of Gen Z, we have a big advantage in the workplace because our generation is most likely to understand and willing to use AI.
As this article puts it, “Gen Z isn't merely living in the age of AI; they are actively shaping it.”
So what do you think? Is AI out to replace us? Or do we still have the power to control our destiny?
