Is Gen Z already paranoid about looking old?
Gen Z is fixated on preventing signs of aging, using anti-aging serums and even medical procedures like Botox.
The oldest Zoomers aren’t even 30 yet, but many are already trying to prevent signs of aging.
The Business of Fashion reports that 70 percent of Gen Zers are already using anti-aging serums daily and cosmetic medicine experts say their patients are trending younger.
There used to be a time when medical procedures to prevent aging were stigmatized, but now it’s a lot more normal - things like “Baby Botox,” “prejuvenations” or “tweakments.”
Apps like TikTok and Zoom are partly to blame - people are spending more time than ever before looking at their own faces, and even using age filters to see how they might look when they’re older.
TikTok is full of people sharing anti-aging secrets. The hashtag #antiaging has more than 7.4 billion views on TikTok alone.
Brands are capitalizing on these fears - with some specifically tailoring products to young people!
