Is the Republican party out of touch with young people?
December’s Republican presidential debate at the University of Alabama left young conservatives feeling there is much work to be done within the GOP to win the youth vote
They wanted discussion around the economy, but what they got was candidates arguing about Trump, bickering at each other, and a variety of culture war topics. Here’s a sample of that:
Serious issues turned into ego battles on the debate stage - making all of the candidates look immature.
Another issue where Republicans seem to lose young voters is their hardline stance on abortion. Some young conservatives want the party to take a more moderate approach in line with their generation.
A recent Harvard Youth poll found that 56% of young republicans plan to vote in the election - that’s a 10-point dip from 66% in 2019.
Do you think the GOP is listening to young people?
