This criminal prosecutor just turned 18
Peter Park passed the bar exam when he was 17 and at 18. He may be California’s youngest practicing attorney.
Imagine being just 18 years old and already a practicing attorney.
Meet Peter Park, who made history as the youngest person to ever pass California’s notoriously tough bar exam when he was just 17.
When Park was 13, he started high school and law school at the same time, enrolling in a 4-year program at Northwestern California University School of Law
There’s a state bar rule that lets students go to law school early if they pass a college proficiency exam.
Park wasn’t worried about missing out on normal high school and college experiences as he felt he was doing something important and meaningful by learning the law.
He graduated high school after the 10th grade, got his law degree this year, and started working this August as a law clerk at the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.
And after passing the bar exam, he was sworn in this December as a Deputy District Attorney - making him California’s youngest practicing lawyer.
Do you think we’ll see more ambitious teens following his path?
